Toyota has introduced the new Fortuner Legender with 4X4 drivetrain and is priced at Rs 42.33 lakh (ex-showroom). The new 4X4 variant is Rs 3.72 lakh Costlier as compared to 4X2 model and even in some of the cities, on road price of this new variant is touching Rs 50 lakh which makes it the most expensive in the segment.
Equipment
Earlier, Toyota Fortuner Legender was only available with two wheel drivetrain. Except from the badging, 4X4 variant is similar with the addition of 11 speaker JBL audio system, which was previously only limited to 4X4 of the standard Fortuner. Equipment and features remains unchanged from 4X2 Legender includes stylish Quad LED headlamps, Powered tailgate, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, wireless phone charger, etc.
Engine and Transmission details
Toyota Fortuner 4X4 is powered by a 2.8 litre turbo diesel engine produces 204hp of power and 500Nm of torque mated with 6-speed automatic gearbox. Legender doesn’t get the petrol engine and also misses out manual gearbox.
Rivals
With the addition of the new 4X4 legender variant, Fortuner becomes the most expensive car in the segment and competes with MG Gloster (Rs 29.98 lakh – Rs 37.68 lakh) in India.
