Triumph has unveiled the Rocket 3 Storm R and GT models, marking the pinnacle of power and performance for the brand. These bikes are the most potent series-production Triumph motorcycles to date and are now listed on the Indian website, stirring excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts.
Featuring a striking blacked-out finish, the Rocket 3 Storm R and GT boast new, lighter wheels that contribute to lower unsprung mass, enhancing the bikes’ agility and handling. Available in three stunning colors – black, red, and blue – these models are sure to turn heads on the road.
Powering the Rocket 3 Storm duo is a formidable liquid-cooled, 2,458cc, inline three-cylinder engine, delivering an impressive 182hp at 7,000rpm and 225Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This power output represents a significant increase of 15hp and 4Nm over the already impressive ‘standard’ Rocket 3 range. Notably, the Rocket 3 Storm’s 182hp surpasses Triumph’s Speed Triple 1200 RS and the Ducati Diavel V4 in terms of sheer power.
The new 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels are lighter than the previous models, although exact figures haven’t been disclosed by Triumph. This reduction in unsprung mass is expected to enhance the Rocket 3 Storm’s agility and responsiveness. Additionally, the switch to Metzeler Cruisetec rubber from Avon Cobras further improves the bike’s grip and handling.
Weighing in at 317kg fully fueled, the Rocket 3 Storm R is slightly lighter than the GT variant. Both models feature twin Brembo Stylema calipers at the front and a radially-mounted Brembo M4.32 caliper at the rear, ensuring exceptional braking performance. The R boasts a seat height of 773mm, while the GT offers an even more accessible 750mm perch.
In terms of features, the Rocket 3 Storm is on par with the regular Rocket 3, offering a TFT dash that controls various riding aids. These include ABS, traction control (supported by an IMU), four riding modes, hill hold control, and cruise control. Optional extras include heated grips, a bi-directional quickshifter, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a Bluetooth module for the dash. Keyless ignition, all-LED lighting, and a USB charging port are standard features on the Rocket 3 Storm models.
Cosmetically, the Rocket 3 Storm stands out with its blacked-out components, giving it a distinct and aggressive look. The three available colors – blue, red, and black – are applied to either the top or bottom half of the tank, depending on the model.
Overall, the Triumph Rocket 3 Storm R and GT models represent a new benchmark in performance and design, offering riders a thrilling and dynamic riding experience.
